Night One Recap

BYU-WSU

Hmm not the Cougars I was thinking...
Last time I saw two Cougars go after each other, it was on one of the many Adult websites that take up the bulk of my internet history. But this one was a good follow up to the S. Carolina-Vandy game.

Despite his speech, I'm sure Mitt was able to catch most of the game at one of Tampa's many fine gentleman's clubs. A wonderfully sober evening for Mitt at the strip club. What a match. Sobriety and strip clubs compliment each other about as well as Thai food and IBS.

Despite being very close to an actual cult, BYU is a damn good football team. Granted it was Washington State, but one might expect more from a Mike Leach WSU. Still, BYU dominated the entire game on both sides of the ball. Though they'd be a great addition to the Big 12...they are a perfect Independent as they are very sustainable. Loyal (and sometimes delusional) fan base, awesome stadium, and super weird they're like the Branch Davidian Notre Dame. I said in pre-season these guys can go undefeated and they didn't give me any doubts last night.

South Carolina-Vandy

A Game of Inches.

Poor Vandy---What a snub call at the end of the 4th. I rarely let myself allow someone to blame a bad call for a loss...but this gets a pass. Despite Lattimore being a complete badass and grinding through pain to gain 100+ yards and win the game for the East Coast SC, Vandy probably deserved to win the game. Aaron Rodgers JR was really impressive and James Franklin very much out coached Steve Spurrier. But as Pacino said in "Any Given Sunday" it's a game of inches. And though the same speech could be applied to the Porn Industry, it still very much applies to football. SC was just sneaky enough to win.
