Breaking Bad Crystal (Meth) Ball

Marshall Weber

Much like Ron and Harry, those of us watching the final run of Breaking Bad are looking into our own crystal ball,  trying to figure out the fate of our beloved series.

It's puzzling indeed.

Most fans were certain that Jesse would never rat on Walt. Happened.

We still don't know who the Ricin is for.

We don't know who's going to make it out alive.

We don't know if Walt Jr. will ever do anything but eat breakfast. Ok, well at least we probably know one thing.

But from all the sad internet collecting I've done over the past week, I do have some sort-of predictions for the next few episodes. By the way, no theory on the internet is completely original, these are basically a collection of my own theories combined with my favorite that I've read.

Tohajiilee: This is the title for this week's episode. Here are some thoughts
  • Tohajiile is where Walt burried his money in the desert
  • It's also the location of Walt and Jesse's first cook (Things coming full circle, bitch!)
  • Someone dies here. A lot's happened this second half, but nothing of this caliber. The time for this is due. I don't think it's going to be Jesse. My money's on Hank.
Ozymandias:

For those who don't know,
Ozymandias comes from the Mary Shelley poem
of the same name and depicts a group of men wandering around the desert amongst the remains of a once great empire. Sound familiar?
  • Walt realizes his Empire's over and thus he comes back to Earth.
  • Hank and Gomie Die. :-(
  • One thing Gilligan and the rest of the writers love doing is the writing
  • The episode's directed by Rian Johnson, who directed "The Fly" episode, so this one's likely to get a little weird. Yes.
  • Jesse is "enslaved" by the Neo-Nazis and is forced to cook the blue product everyone in Eastern Europe is so keen on having.
  • Marie exposes "Heisenberg", actually feeling remorse and other "actual" feelings once again, Walt doesn't fight it and let's himself be exposed
  • Walt Jr is sad. Goes into a (breakfast) coma
  • In order to protect their family, Marie takes Holly and Walt Jr in.
  • Walt (and possibly Skyler) goes on the lam, likely to New Hampshire thus bringing us to the next episode...

Granite State:

New Hampshire. AKA the Granite State.
  • So we're pretty much guaranteed that Walt hides out in New Hampshire for a bit
  • With his bear---It's still hard to tell whether Walt has defeated cancer or if he's just simply stopped taking his chemo. I'll take the latter.
  • This might be were the flash forwards pick up aka scene where he's eating breakfast on his 52 second birthday
  • Also where he buys this little squirt gun
  • Now by the look of the surroundings, he's back in New Mexico
  • He then goes back to his now ransacked and vacant house to get the Ricen capsule
  • He sees Carol...awkward. With Carol's reaction on the yellow "Heisenberg" spray painted on the wall, it's clear now that Heisenberg, like any great Western tale, is notoriously known

No. Walt does not become the next member of The National

Felina:

The Finale. But what does it mean? There's a lot of speculation about the meaning of the title and what it means. It's not as clear to deciyfer as episodes above but here are some ideas.
  • Felina is the feminine version of the Spanish word for feline. Considering this isn't Cougar Town, I don't really know what to make of this. Maybe someone gets mauled by a mountain lion
  • There's a Mary Robbins song entitled "Feleena". Robbins is an old country singer who's best song is perhaps "El Paso". Seems appropriate.
The most interesting theory though comes from Reddit. Break up Felina into chemical and you get Fe-Li-Na.
  • Fe=Iron. The most prominent element in blood.
  • Li=Lithium. A prominent element in meth.
  • Na=Sodium. The prominent element in tears.
Put this all together and you have blood, meth, and tears. While this seems a bit of a stretch, if everything above is true, then this is a very indicative title.
  • Walt goes back with the M60 to save Jesse (and possibly sharp shooter Todd) from meth enslavement
  • He succeeds and all the Neo-Nazis and Lydia die. Rejoice
BUT THE RICEN:

Theory One:

  • If BB does end with Walt saving Jesse with the M60, I think he takes the Ricen before attempting the rescue
  • Why? With his business finally over, his family and Jesse safe, Walt realizes that the best thing for everyone is if he leaves the Earth for good.
  • So there it all is. Blood from the Nazis, the meth empire coming full circle and the tears that will be ever flowing when our once again loved character dies.
Theory Two:
  • Stick with the assumption that Walt goes to save Jesse, the idea that the ricen is for him (Jesse) is out the window.
  • Assuming Hank dies, I don't see Walt having any reason to kill Saul, Marie or even Skyler...So it's possibly for Lydia.

I apologize if you read this and none of this comes true. But it actually might be better if it didn't. Either way, America will be glued to their televisions September 29th.
