September Madness: Round Two
Well it looks like Stringer Bell was able to outlast that pesky George Feeny. I guess we know for certain that the Baltimore projects are a lot tougher than John Adams High and Philadelphia. Boy Meets World's inspired run to take down the king was just one of many surprises in the First Round...
Shockers and Cinderellas:
Are George Mason references dated yet? Who cares.
- I thought Friday Night Lights and Entourage would be like a great boxing match. But instead of the back and forth like I expected, the guys from Queens dominated the Texans
- Even with the combination of people's love of nostalgia and hatred for B-More, Boy Meets World was able to nip at Stringer and Omar's heals, but ultimately fell short. Maybe Snoop went in with her nail gun and boarded up the Matthews home for good.
- Downton Abbey getting
completely thrashed by the ever outdated Family Guy was
also worth noting
- I guess Louis CK has a bigger impact on this generation than I thought....this should make you happy. The redheaded curmudgeon took one away from The Walking Dead fanboys. Leave it up to Louie to survive a zombie attack.
- WHO NEEDS LENS FLARES ANYWAY?...Another fairly pleasant surprise was That 70's Show snuck one by JJ Abrams' Lost.
Powerhouses:
- Prison jokes
aside, The Office unsurprisingly
dominated Oz...accumulating nearly 99% of the vote. Granted,
very few have seen HBO's first great drama...but even if they had I feel
like the results wouldn't have been much different.
- With a
percentage as high as their baby blue recipe, Walter White and
Jesse Pinkman took 98% of the vote from Hannah, Shoshe, Marnie,
and Jessa. Even though Breaking Bad is the hottest topic
in Pop-Culture right now (Sorry iOS7), I can never see a scenario where it doesn't best Lena Dunham's polarizing masterpiece. Yes. Girls is
genius and so is Lena. But it's not enough to take down the king.
- Game of Thrones,
The Simpsons, South Park, Mad Men, and Seinfeld were
also also on top of their game
